Hope of God

Our hope has to always be in God and He is so amazing that He has given us stories in the bible that we can read and then He wants us to be childlike in our faith and say to ourselves, well Ezekiel prophesied even when he did not know if it would work. The Lord asked Ezekiel will these bones live? I love how Ezekiel said God I do not know But you do. Many times we are looking at our broken families, our sick bodies, our broken relationships, our broken country and can we say even crazy, our broken finances because of lost jobs and so forth. Only God knows of all your brokenness that needs to be healed and made whole. God was and is and is to come amazingly so we can come to Him even with our perished hope just like Israel’s and breath on them the Word of God, prophesy over them in prayer and command them to come to life. See God has given us a picture in how to prophesy, all the stages of dry bones, tell the sinews to grow back, tell the skin to come back, tell the blood to run back and command the breath of heaven to come and bring them to life.

You may feel crazy but God wants you to act in faith and hand that perished hope that has stung your heart and mind to God and walk on the water just like he told Peter. Peter asked Jesus, is it you and if it is tell me to come. That is the childlike faith that God wants us to have. He wants us to get out of the boat and walk keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. I want to walk in that childlike faith believing God and never doubting.

I love that Peter got out of the boat. I am so thankful that Ezekiel prophesied to those dry bones. I want God to trust me that he can ask me, Lisa what do you see? I will pray and have a conversation with Him and then whatever God tells me to do, I will be obedient, keeping my eyes fixed on Him.

So today if your hope has perished, take heart and prophesy and trust God. Read the scriptures out loud and know that they are real and be encouraged.

Father I pray for all that they would be encouraged by your written word and that this story of Ezekiel and Peter are given to show us that our hope is in you and that we can trust you when we are afraid and when our hope has lost life and what to do. Holy Spirit guide them and direct them today of what and who to prophesy to and how to prophesy. In Jesus name I pray and I thank you Lord because I know you are faithful and I trust you for all things. I love you Lord, you are amazing. Woo hoo. Yes Lord.

Ezekiel 37: 1 – 14 NASB1995 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out [a]by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord [b]God, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause [c]breath to enter you that you may come to life. I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a [d]noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them. Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”’” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

The Vision Explained

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are [e]completely cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people. 14 I will put My [f]Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord.’”

Matt 14: 28-32 NASB1995 28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
