Loving Righteousness and hating lawlessness
First, I always want everyone to be encouraged that there is no revelation from God that is too small or too big, it is another facet of His glory being revealed to us. Our eyes are being washed by the Holy Spirit so that we can see and know God deeper. When this happens many times, the enemy will try to condemn us of our thoughts of ‘why are you so stupid, you should have known this, you have been saved for so many years’. Whenever the enemy tries to condemn you which means to crush you, take life away from you all that you need to do is to tell the enemy to be gone, because the enemy is under your feet and is defeated. So, with every revelation get excited and rejoice because God our Father loves you.
A couple of months ago there was a couple of things that happened at the same time. I was studying the book of 1 John on love because my love walk has not always been that great and when studying 1 John, I had a deeper revelation of that I cannot love without knowing God. In the book of 1 John the word “know” is in there more times than the word “love” and when I saw that I must know God more. The Holy Spirit revealed that love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit which comes only from knowing God and having a relationship. Then I was listening to a teaching on the fear of the Lord. He had interviewed a pastor who at the time was in jail and asked him when he stopped loving Jesus. His answer was that he never stopped loving Jesus, but he did not hate lawlessness, did not have any fear of God. I knew that I cannot possibly know God without having the fear of the Lord, it is not possible.
The writer of Hebrews was talking about Jesus, and we are made in His image, and this is how we are to be and in the process of becoming.
Hebrews 1:9 AMP “You have loved righteousness [integrity, virtue, uprightness in purpose] and have hated lawlessness [injustice, sin]. Therefore God, Your God, Has anointed You With the oil of gladness above Your companions.”
The word lawlessness and about hating it made me search more about the meaning and when I saw that it was sin and then I read about the sons of Eli, and it gripped my heart because they did not know or respect the Lord meaning that there was no fear of the Lord in their heart, soul, or mind.
1 Samuel 2: 12 AMP The sons of Eli [Hophni and Phinehas] were worthless (dishonorable, unprincipled) men; they did not know [nor respect] the LORD – Worthless also means wicked, despicable, having no good qualities
In the book of Isaiah it reads that the fear of the Lord is your treasure and in the book of Matthew it reads that where your treasure is, there your heat will be also.
Is 33: 6 AMP And He will be the security and stability of your times, A treasure of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; The fear of the Lord is your treasure.
Matt 6: 21 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The Word of God is timeless, God does not change because He cannot be improved upon.
So I saw the road that I must travel and that is to fear the Lord because that is where my treasure is and there my heart will be, I will want to know the Lord God Almighty more and my love for God will grow and love for myself and others and then I will hate lawlessness or sin. What a beautiful road that will be to travel. As I am doing this travel with the Holy Spirit then the desires of my heart will come true. What an awesome travel to be on! Thank you Holy Spirit.
