How many followers do you have and how many do we need!
In a world of likes, smiles, selfies, Instagram, Facebook, twitter and the list goes on where everyone wants to be liked and thinking that those like buttons on those social media clips will fill your love tank and some have even started doing the craziest, wildest, self-degrading things to have more likes or to have subscribers, but do not be fooled these are not true followers.
The followers that you and I need are God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, such a beautiful Holy Trinity. The Word of God tells me that God is for me.
Romans 8: 31b NASB If God is for us, who is against us?
My love language is words of affirmation. So, in this world of followers and trying to be seen to the millions and many times trying to hide from the One who truly sees us and knows me better than I know myself, I must remember from Whom do I need to have affirmation and approval. I need to know that I am God’s. He has created me in His image. I was made perfect in my mother’s womb and there was a purpose and plan for me even before I was made because that is when God saw me. How He sees me is unlike how anyone sees me. I do not have to run to check how many followers, how many likes or loves clicks there are I need to run into His presence and fill myself with Him, surrender to Him and then my affirmation be filled to overflowing day by day.
Gen. 1: 27 AMP So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Ps 13: 13-14 NKJV For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
Jeremiah 29: 11NKJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
So many times, I had the thought of “I know that they love me, but do they really like me?” Then today as I was listening to two lady preachers, they said that as ladies we all struggle with this thought, but I know that men do also. When I heard them say that I had to laugh, giggle, and realize that many if not everyone will struggle with their identity but what we must do is to run daily into the arms of our Father and thank Him for His precious love and acceptance.
My desire for everyone is that when taking a selfie with others or by themselves they would know that they are loved, made in the image of God.
I hear the Lord saying to us “Know that you are stamped with approval, so smile big into those selfies and let my love shine out because the only followers you need are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. You are loved with an everlasting love. Now go take a wonderful selfie with someone else.”
Father, I pray that we would find those beautiful, scarred hands of Jesus caressing our faces, looking into our eyes, and we would hear You saying to us I love you, I died for you, I rose from the grave with power for you so you could be free. We would look to You for self-worth, because You love us, we are Yours, we were bought at a price of the precious blood of Jesus, and it is by Your blood that we are made worthy. Lord, I pray that we would hear You singing this over today and every day. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Zephaniah 3: 17 NKJV The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
