You Will Make It Through!

On Sunday morning worship while we were singing Maverick City Music’s song “Firm Foundation (He Won’t)” I had a vision which I want to share with you.

  • Ephesians 2:20 ESV Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
  • 1 Peter 2:6 ESV For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.”

The lyrics talk about how Christ is our firm foundation and the rock on which I stand, when everything around me is shaken I have never been gladder that I have put my faith in Jesus. We will have joy in chaos, peace that makes no sense, I have built my life on Jesus and that Jesus will never let me down, No He Won’t. But the best part of the song for me was that when the rain comes, the wind blows that my house is built on Jesus, and I am safe with Jesus and that I Am Going to Make It Through!

  • Luke 6: 46-49 CJB “Why do you call me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ but not do what I say? 47 Everyone who comes to Me, hears My words and acts on them — I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like someone building a house who dug deep and laid the foundation on bedrock. When a flood came, the torrent beat against that house but couldn’t shake it, because it was constructed well. 49 And whoever hears My words but doesn’t act on them is like someone who built his house on the ground without any foundation. As soon as the river struck it, it collapsed, and that house became a horrendous wreck!”

I know the song and I know those truths from the Word of God, and I have already experienced them in my forty years of salvation But when I heard I Am Going To Make It Through the Holy Spirit gave me a fresh vision of which I am very grateful.

When we were singing that “I was going to make it through” I crossed my arms in front of my face, fists made and pushing forward, still singing “I am going to make it through”, and I had a vision. Woo Hoo. I saw an American Football team practice with a football sledge. Now I know nothing about football, we do not watch football and I would have no idea of the big tournament, match that all the television stations follow or even what time of the year that it happens. So, I guess through practice the football team is all dressed in their garb and some men will stand on that football sledge, the coach will scream at their players to push further because they want their strength to grow. The purpose is when a scrimmage happens because usually the stronger team will gain control of the football and then pass the ball to the quarterback player in the hopes of running that football down the field to be awarded a touchdown, (I hope my descriptions of that play was correct). Then I saw Jesus on the other end. Now Jesus was not resisting me, but He was my goal. I was determined to keep going through to the other side and then my vision got better. I saw the Holy Spirit come behind me and just put out his pointed finger and touch that football sledge and that sledge just flew forward. Wow so exciting.

The Holy Spirit was confirming to me and encouraging me that yes, I must surrender my will to the Lord God Almighty but once I have done that God is so gracious that He provides the mercies for us daily so that we can walk through this life no matter the circumstances.

  • Romans 12: 1 NASB Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

As I was meditating on these truths today, I heard the Holy Spirit say that no matter what you are going through you will make it through when you build your life upon the rock of the Lord Jesus Christ. As you continue to do this day in and day out you will make it through financial troubles, you will make it through the loss of jobs and you have no idea what to do,  you will make it through marital issues, you will make it through health issues within your family, you will make it through family offenses and peace will come, you will make it through death of a family member or a friend, no matter what struggle you are facing right now you will make it through!

My husband and I have many testimonies of family offenses being healed, job losses and then God providing a new job, health issues with both of us and how they affect a marriage, and now we are walking through mini strokes after a heart attack, but God is faithful. Jesus is our rock, and He won’t fail. He provides peace of mind and the strength to do all things. Our testimonies are endless, and I could not name them all in one blog and I am grateful that we have placed our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Holy Spirit, I pray for everyone who has felt the winds blow, the storms rising, chaos in their lives no matter in what area such as conflict in their marriages, conflict with their children or parents, loss of jobs, health loss and their lives have changed and they do not know what to do, Lord whatever the storms are that they would surrender to You and have You Jesus as their foundation and that they would place their faith in You Jesus knowing that You will never fail them. Please encourage them today Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
