What do I do when I feel demonic talons choking me with fear when listening to a doctor’s report or any unpleasant report? Too many times panic and anxiety will arise in us and run rapidly over any peace and restraint we have.
I found myself in that ugly place recently and unfortunately, I felt panic starting to rise even while trying to pray and believe the Word of God. My thoughts were running rapidly of too many evil possibilities but I kept smiling. On my way out of the doctor’s office, I hummed the song “Fear is not my future, You are”.
Fear will scream at us but we must tell that ugly demon it has no place in my life. I thought one way to battle that demonic force was to build myself with the Word of God.
So here goes, What does God say about fear?
Thankfully God tells us approximately 365 times not to fear, do not be afraid in His Word. He provides a daily devotion of strength for us to apply to any circumstance we find ourselves in. As I study these scriptures of not fearing we will be encouraged that the only one to fear is the Lord.
- Isaiah 41:10 NKJV Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
I do not have to fear because God is with me and He is mine. He strengthens me in any circumstance and I am held in His righteous right hand. Not only that but I have been made righteous or justified because of the blood of Jesus. Romans 5:9.
- Psalm 34:4 NKJV I sought the Lord, and He heard me And delivered me from all my fears.
When I cry out to the Lord amid fear, not only does He hear me but He is my deliverer from all my fears. Hallelujah.
- Joshua 1:9 NKJV Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
God promises that He is always with me so He enables me to be strong and not afraid. He commanded me and I believe Jesus is Man of His Word.
- Joshua 1:8 NKJV This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8 is an amazing scripture before verse 9 because it provides instructions to stay strong in the Lord and not be afraid. When I am obedient to keep the Word of God in my mouth and constantly thinking about it then my ways are promised to be successful.
- Psalm 56:3-4 NKJV Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
God has decreed this scripture and it is my responsibility to declare that no matter the size of the fear I will trust God to work it out. Thank you, Lord, for giving us declarations.
- Romans 8:15 NKJV For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
God has adopted me into His family and is a wonderful daddy. I need to rest in His presence as God the Father.
- 1 Peter 5:7 AMP casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
God is good at being God and He can handle all my anxieties, worries, and concerns and I can heave them at the Lord and let them go. I can trust Him with anything.
- 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
I have to remember the war that I am present to is spiritual warfare and I must cast every thought to the obedience of Christ. Therefore I speak, think, live, and pray like Jesus did as He walked this earth.
As I study these scriptures I know the Lord is my future and I can trust Him.
- Psalm 118:6 NKJV The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Because the Lord is standing with me, cheering me on I will not fear no matter the report. There is nothing that man can do to me that will deter the Lord from being on my side.
- John 16:33 NASB These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.
Since I am a child of God, I am His sheep I hear His voice so that I have peace no matter what!
- Proverbs3:5-6 AMP Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
My job is to trust and love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. As I do this then He promises to remove any obstacles that are thrown my way. Thank you, Jesus.
- Psalm 112:1 NKJV Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.
As I reverently worship God and fear Him then I will hunger to study His Word and every day will have a greater blessing than the day before because He is faithful.
- Philippians 4:4-7 NASB Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
As I rejoice in the Lord, I will pursue holiness and peace with all men and my heart and mind will be guarded from the enemy.
- Psalm 103:17 AMPC But the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children.
Thankfully the mercies of the Lord are new every morning. God is everlasting and loves us and wants to protect us with His righteous right hand. As we bow our hearts low in worship to Him, He promises His righteousness will extend to our generations to come.
I urge you today to bring all your worries, cares, and fears and lay them before Him today. Jesus is truth, the enemy is not. He loves you and longs to heal your broken heart and mind today. The enemy throws fear at us constantly but the Lord provided a way out for us. God the Father sent His Son to die on the cross because He loves the world. Bring all that you have before Him and trust Him. He is trustworthy and He is your way out.
- 1 John 4:18 NKJV There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Holy Spirit, I thank You that perfect love casts out fear and You are the perfect one. Lord, help us to remember this truth at all times, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Like, subscribe, review and share with others to encourage them that God has perfect love for them.
