Speak what God says

Whenever I would have the grandchildren with me I would always read a bible story and have them memorize a scripture. A couple of years ago we were memorizing:

Galations 5: 22-23 NASB 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

One day the Holy Spirit said Lisa, do not have them memorize but start speaking My Word over them and tell them that that is who they are. They are lovely, they are joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, gentle, faithful and they have self-control. When I did this I could see the transformation in them and myself because as I spoke what God says then they were much more patience and kind with their siblings and I would also tell them that they hear the Voice of the Holy Spirit and they are obedient to the Holy Spirit and they are obedient to their mommy and daddy. Their parents gave testimonies to me that they were more obedient and where there had been struggles, the struggling was gone.

One day I remember that I was either in doubt of did God speak to me and the Holy Spirit said Lisa, you need to tell yourself what you have been telling the grandkids that you hear My voice and you are obedient to me. Proclaim the truth of my Word over yourself also.

When you earnestly desire to prophesy because you have a heart to love, encourage, edify others, your heart is to see them do all that God has for them.

1 Cor 14: 1, 3 NASB Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 3  But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.

As I was blessing, encouraging and proclaiming the Word of God to my grandchildren that they are lovely, made in the image of God, made for a purpose and plan that God has designed for them and they are not failures then I was also able to hear the Lord more distinctly on His exhortation to give to my family and friends and whoever God was directing me to.

The spoken Word of God is powerful. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Romans 10: 17 NKJV

In creation God spoke and things such as light, moon, stars, lands, seas came to being. God told us that death and life are in the power of the tongues so how much more do we have to be careful of the words that we speak.

Ephesians 4: 29 NKJV Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Imparting grace to others also means to benefits others, builds them up, makes them stronger, blesses them and encourages them. What a picture of the Holy Spirit and who we are becoming. God encourages me with this because this is the desire of my heart that I would be an encourager like He is and it is a process.

Father I pray that you would encourage others today that as they speak the Word of God in truth and encouragement and bless others that they are being like You and being more transformed into Your image which is so exciting. Bless them today in knowing that they hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and that they are obedient to You. In Jesus Name. Amen.
